Slavery began in the Bahamas.
Slavery in the Bahamas was terrible just like the rest of the countries. It started when Christopher Columbus came to the Bahamas. He made 40,000 people who were already there slaves within 25 years .The people who were there known as Lucyans died cause of how harsh slavery was and many diseases (Brathwaite). As you can see he started slavery and caused the death of thousands of people.

Resistance to slavery
Slavery resistance is when slaves do something or fight back.Slaves in the Bahamas ,there was a shipboard in 1841 which caused 128 enslaved people to get their Freedom. transported enslaved people from Richmond Virginia .(Smithsonian) November 7 1841 slavery became illegal that's when they fought back .

Afro Bahamian people of African ancestry .Bahamas Carribeans grew food .Fruits and vegetables ,meat fish bread and rice as well .They even have they own dish known as conch. Which is Sea Shell and rice .(Tedla)Afro Bahamians are decedents of freed and enslaved a=Africans .That were captured by Europeans.
